As part of this, the festival of Ramadan, also known as Eid- ul-Fitr, is being celebrated today by the Jak Committee, a section of Muslims in Coimbatore.
The month of Ramzan is considered to be the best month in Islam. Muslims consider this month to be the month of approaching the Lord, and when the gates of heaven are opened, the gates of hell are closed.

As a part of this, a special Ramadan prayer is being conducted on behalf of the Jak Committee at Aisha Mahal Ground in Kuniyamuthur. Thousands of Muslims are participating in the prayers.
On the occasion of Ramadan, Muslims wore new clothes and offered special prayers and hugged each and greeted each other.
It is to be noted that the Sunnat Jama'ath, the majority group of Muslims, will be celebrating Ramadan's special prayers tomorrow.
