Pattali Makkal Katchi (PMK) held an awareness public meeting on climate change in Coimbatore. Sharmila (AMR), the first woman heavy vehicle and bus driver to be the chief guest, was honoured with the Anbumani Ramadoss Lifetime Achievement Award.
Coimbaatore: The countries of the world are struggling to cope with the changing climate change.
Pattali Makkal Katchi founder Dr Ramadoss and PMK leader Anbumani Ramadoss have been continuously urging the world to implement the declaration of emergency on climate change.
In this case, a public gathering on climate change was conducted in Coimbatore on behalf of the Pattali Makkal Katchi at the Raja Veedhi Thernilai Ground.
The awareness meeting, presided over by Coimbatore PMK East district secretary Kovai Raj, addressed on the topic of climate change, which affects not only India but the rest of the world.
People were made aware of the need for tree plantation, the need for conservation of water bodies, the need for maintaining the environment, etc. especially due to high temperatures, extreme heat and rainfall caused by seasonal variations.

At the end of the public meeting, to celebrate the birth anniversary of the PMK worker, all the party workers and the general public who attended the public meeting were given country sugar which did not harm the body.
Coimbatore PMK East district secretary Kovai Raj, district president Kovai Ramesh, PMK youth wing, women's wing, IT team and all level in-charges were present on the occasion.
