Looting of Cash and Jewellery from Income Tax official's house in Dharapuram

In a shocking incident, unidentified miscreants opened the house of Income Tax officer Rajadurai in Dharapuram and looted gold and silver ornaments worth Rs 3 lakh and cash. Investigations revealed that the robbery took place when he had gone to a relative's house for a holiday.


Tirupur: Dharapuram Alangiyam Road in Tirupur district, near Metro City. R. Rajadurai (35) lives in N.R.S. Nagar with his family. He works in the Dharapuram sales tax office as an assistant. His wife is Thenmozhi (32) and two kids Mithran (7) and Rana Mithran (4) .

On Friday, they went to their relative's house with their family on a three-day holiday for the festival.



When they returned home last evening, they were shocked to find that the door was open without being locked.



When they went inside, they found that all of the items in the cupboard had been destroyed, including 7 sovereigns of gold jewellery, silver articles from the house, and Rs 5,000 in cash.



Rajadurai informed the incident to the Dharapuram police station, and an investigation has been initiated. In this case, the burglars also searched the houses of Muthulakshmi and Kirubakaran on both sides of Rajadurai's residence for the goods. However,both the houses were empty with no one and no items were available.

The police have filed a robbery case and are examining CCTV cameras in the area.
