The Collectorate in Coimbatore is hosting a meeting of the Regional Coordination Committee for workers from outside the state. It has been decided in the meeting that the Additional Commissioner of Labour will hold meetings at regular intervals and submit a report on the progress made for each quarter to the Commissioner of Labour Welfare.
Coimbatore: In order to create awareness about the issues relating to migrant workers and the ways in which they can be reassured and their legal rights, a Regional Level Coordination Committee has been constituted under the Chairmanship of Additional Commissioners in Chennai, Coimbatore, Madurai and Trichy regions.
Assistant Commissioners of Labour Welfare from Coimbatore, Tiruppur, Salem, Krishnagiri, Coonoor, Erode and Namakkal districts participated in the meeting at coimbatore zonal level.
Representatives from state organisations, representatives from voluntary organisations and representatives of factory owners associations were selected at the meeting.
Additional Directors of Industrial Safety and Welfare from Salem, Coimbatore, Tiruppur, Erode and Hosur districts have been selected as special members.
