On the occasion of Labour Day on May 1, grama sabha meetings were held in 228 panchayats in Coimbatore district. District Collector Kranthi kumar Pati participated in the meeting of the Ikkarai Boluvampatti Panchayat Grama Sabha and listened to the grievances of the people of the area.
Coimbatore: On the occasion of May Day, the District Collector attended a grama sabha meeting held at Ikkarai Boluvampatti panchayat in Coimbatore district and listened to the grievances of the people.
On the occasion of Workers' Day on May 1, grama sabha meetings were held in all the 228 panchayats of Coimbatore district. As part of this, a grama sabha meeting was held in Ikkarai Boluvampatti panchayat near Coimbatore.
The meeting was presided over by panchayat president Ambi alias Sadanandam and was attended by district collector Kranthi kumar Pati as a special observer.

Various aspects of the meeting included village panchayat administration and public expenditure, rural development programme, Namakku Naame Scheme, Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme, Housing for All Survey, Jal Jeevan Mission, Tamil Nadu State Rural Livelihoods Mission, among others.

He was also informed about the works completed and the basic amenities being implemented. The district collector read out that there should be no child marriage and open defecation.
Following this, the public presented their grievances in the form of petitions in the meeting. He directed the officials to take action on the petition. Additional Collector Alamelu Mangai, Panchayat Secretary Nagaraj, government officials and the general public participated in the grama sabha meeting.
