On the occasion of May Day, a special Grama Sabha meeting was held in Somayampalayam, Thadagam, Nanjundapuram, Pannimadai, Kurudampalayam and Ashokapuram Panchayats under Periyanaickenpalayam Union in Coimbatore.
Coimbatore: May Day was celebrated across Tamil Nadu yesterday. On this occasion, special Grama Sabha meetings were held in the Panchayats under Periyanaickenpalayam Union in Coimbatore.
Accordingly, president Rangaraj presided over the grama sabha meeting held in Somayampalayam panchayat. Vice President Punithavathi Kittu presided over the function. It was decided at the meeting to supply proper drinking water. In the end, secretary Chezhiyan thanked him.
The grama sabha meeting in Chinnathadagam panchayat was presided over by President Soundravadivu Anandan. Agriculture credit was discussed in the meeting. The meeting was attended by vice-president Gopal, panchayat members and the general public in large numbers. At the end, secretary Karthik thanked him.
President Karthikeswari Sundararaj presided over a grama sabha meeting in Nanjundapuram panchayat. Vice President Thirunavukkarasu addressed and welcomed everyone. Agriculture credit was discussed in the meeting. Officials and the public, including union activist Vanitha, were present.
Rathinam Maruthachalam presided over the Pannimadai panchayat grama sabha meeting. Arulkumar, Vice President, took the lead. A special resolution was passed to control horse movement in the Pannimadai area. The meeting was attended by union officials, Thadagam sub-inspector Arumuga Nainar, panchayat members and the general public.
Panchayat President T. Ravi presided over the function at Kurudampalayam panchayat. Panchayat vice-president Vasanthamani and district councillor Karthik took the lead. In this meeting, a pledge was taken to create a clean panchayat. At the end, secretary Shanmugaraj thanked him.
Ramesh, the panchayat president, presided over the grama sabha meeting in Ashokapuram panchayat. Shanmugasundaram, vice president, and union councillor Kalasantharam took the lead. A special resolution was passed at the meeting to increase the house tax, water tax, profession tax and licence fee by 60% for the fiscal year 2023-24. Finally, secretary Leelakrishnan thanked him.
