SDPI activists arrested over bid to lay siege to theatre releasing 'The Kerala Story' movie in Coimbatore

Police arrested SDPI activists who attempted to gherao a theatre in Coimbatore where the movie 'The Kerala Story' was released. Earlier, a scuffle broke out between them creating a ruckus on Brookebond Road.


Coimbatore: The first screening of 'The Kerala Story' was screened in the Hindi language in Coimbatore. In protest, SDPI activists led by district secretary Hussain staged a sit-in at the Brookefields Mall on Brookebond Road.

A scuffle broke out when the police stopped the SDPI activists who tried to lay siege near the Brookebond Road signal. Due to the protest, there was a tense situation in the area.



Following this, the police arrested over 50 protesters. Earlier, SDPI activists raised slogans demanding a ban on the film.
