Tribal woman's decomposed body found in Boluvampatti forest area - Haste

A decomposed body of a woman was found dead and decomposed during a forest department patrol in Boluvampatti forest area of Coimbatore district. During the investigation, it was revealed that she was a tribal woman from Javukadu and was slightly mentally ill.


Coimbatore: In a shocking incident, a decomposed body of a tribal woman was found in a forest area in Boluvampatti.

The forest department personnel were patrolling the water pandal forest area including Boluvampatti forest range near Coimbatore today. At that time, the staff found the body of a woman in a decomposed state.

They then informed the top officials of the forest department. A team led by Boluvampatti forest ranger reached the spot and conducted an inspection. But they immediately informed the Alanthurai police as there were no traces of the elephant dying after being attacked.

The police rushed to the spot and recovered the decomposed body of the woman and sent it to coimbatore government hospital for post-mortem.

During investigation, it was revealed that the deceased has been identified as Kaliyammal (56), wife of Pappan, a native of Javukadu adivasi village, who has two daughters.

According to the investigation, Kaliyammal was a little mentally ill. The Alandurai police have launched a case and are looking into why she

came to the jungle. Is it a murder? they said.
