15 sovereigns of jewellery and Rs 77,000 cash stolen from professor's house near Sulur - The police investigating

Saravanakumar (43), a lecturer at a private college in Karaiyampalayam, near Sulur in Coimbatore, has been identified as the deceased. Police are looking for the miscreants who broke his house's lock and stole 15 sovereigns of jewellery and Rs 77,000 in cash from the cupboard.


Coimbatore: Unidentified miscreants robbed a private college professor's house near Sulur.

Saravanakumar (43) is from Karaiyampalayam, near Sulur. He is a professor at a private college. In this case, he locked his house on Sunday morning and went with his family to his farm in Coonoor in the Nilgiris district.

At that time, the miscreants broke open the front door of his house and entered the house. They opened the cupboard in the room and looted 15 sovereigns of gold jewellery, including a chain, bangles, ring and Rs 77,500 in cash, and fled.

Meanwhile, Saravanakumar returned home at night and was shocked to find that the door was broken open. When he went inside, he found that the jewellery and cash in the cupboard had been looted.

Following that, the robbery was reported to the Sulur police. The police immediately rushed to the spot and conducted an investigation.

Fingerprint experts have been called to the spot and the fingerprints of the unidentified persons recorded in the house have also been recorded and are being investigated.

The tragedy has caused widespread panic among the residents of the area.
