11-year-old Coimbatore lad creates record; Wields 'Silambam' continuously for 2 hours in swimming pool

Raja Muneeswar, a 11-year-old boy from Chinnavedampatti in Coimbatore created history by wielding single and double Silambams in a swimming pool, for two hours continuously. His achievement has been recognized by the Nobel World Records.


Coimbatore: A 11-year-old boy from Coimbatore has been lauded for creating a record by wielding 'Silambam' in the water continuously for two hours.

Santhana Raja and Rajeshwari who hail from Chinnavedampatti in Coimbatore are parents of a 11-year-old boy, Raja Muneeswar who is studying in Class 6 at a private school.



He has also been studying martial arts, including Silambam at the VR Silambam Sports Academy for the past few years.

His coach Dilip Kumar, in association with Splash Swimming Academy, also made him undergo training in swimming since he had a keen interest in swimming too.

They also trained him to wiled the Silambam in water to prepare him for a new record.



Raja Muneeswar who had learnt the exercises properly created a record by rotating both single and double Silambams in the swimming pool continuously for two hours.

He has reportedly created the record by using a variety of swimming techniques and his achievement has been recognized by the Nobel World Records.

Silambam coach Dilip Kumar, and other swimming coaches Sivarajagopalan and Arulpandi, parents, friends and relatives lauded Raja Muneeswar's feat.
