Woman injured after falling down while being chased by wild elephant near Valparai

A woman named Amaravathi, a resident of Pilandiveli Estate near Valparai, had gone to the market and when she returned. The incident of a wild elephant falling down and getting injured after being chased by a wild elephant has created panic among the people of the area.


Coimbatore: In a shocking incident, a woman was seriously injured after she fell after being chased by a wild elephant near Valparai.

There is a Pilandiveli estate area near Valparai. More than 40 people live here.

Amaravathi (47), wife of Chinnasamy (57), who works in a tea plantation, also lives in the area.

Meanwhile, Amaravathi, who had gone from home to the market at around 7 am today, called her relatives and returned home. On their way home, a single wild elephant came out of the forest area and chased them away.

While everyone screamed at the sight of the elephant and ran away, Amaravathi could not run and fell down. She suffered injuries on his hands, legs and head.



Following this, his relatives rescued him and rushed him to Valparai hospital in an estate vehicle. She has been admitted to the hospital and doctors are treating him.

In the meantime, the Valparai forest department, who came to know about the information, started chasing the elephant out of the forest area.

It is to be noted that the incident has created a lot of fear among the people of the area.
