Owner of a rice mill near Palladam attacked with chilli powder

In a shocking incident, two grocery shop owners hurled chilli powder at Srinivasan, the owner of a rice mill, who had come to Ganapathypalayam near Palladam to ask for money for a bag of rice that he had left before six months.


Tirupur: In a shocking incident, a rice mill owner was attacked with chilli powder near Palladam after he came to ask for the dues for a bag of rice.

Sreenivasan hails from Pallathur near Karaikudi. He runs his own rice mill. He has set up godowns in all districts across Tamil Nadu and is distributing rice bags to grocery stores.

In this situation, he has set up a godown at Chinnandipalayam near Palladam in Tiruppur district and is selling rice bags to grocery shops in Ganapathipalayam area.

Meanwhile, Ganapathy had given bags of rice worth Rs 20,000 to a grocery shop owned by One Periyasamy in Palayam six months ago. It is alleged that Periyasamy had not given the money for the rice bag to Srinivasan for six months.

In this situation, Srinivasan, the owner of the rice mill who came to Periyasamy's shop today, asked him to give the money.



He along with five of his brothers threw chilli powder at Srinivasan and attacked him saying that he can't give the money and see what he can.



They threw stones at his car, broke the window pane of the car, closed the shop and fled.

The locals rescued srinivasan who was seriously injured and sent him to palladam government hospital for treatment.



Palladam police, who reached the spot after receiving the information, are investigating the incident.

It is to be noted that a complaint is already pending with the police that ganja and gutka products are being sold in the shop of one Periyasamy, who was involved in the attack.
