Addressing a press meet in Coimbatore, he said "I don't want to contest the 2024 Lok Sabha elections. I came to the BJP for a change of government in Tamil Nadu. I will work as a worker in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections. I don't want to go to do politics in Delhi. I will work to make our candidates win in 2024. I don't want to leave Tamil Nadu. I want my politics to be on this soil.”

Bjp state president Annamalai, who arrived in Coimbatore by air from Chennai, addressed a press conference at the airport.
