As many as 47 inmates, including two girls in 10th standard and 12 inmates in class 12, appeared for the public examination in Coimbatore Central Jail and secured 100 per cent pass percentage. A felicitation ceremony was held under the chairmanship of Jail Superintendent Urmila.
Coimbatore:A felicitation ceremony was held at the Coimbatore Central Jail to felicitate the candidates who cleared the 10th and 12th standard exams.
There are more than 2,300 inmates in the Coimbatore Central Jail, including conviction, trial and detention. In order to guide them, various types of rehabilitation training such as education, yoga, meditation, vocational training etc., are being imparted.
Accordingly, 47 inmates, including two girls, appeared in class 10 and 12 inmates in class 12 and secured 100 percent pass percentage in the government public examination held last month.
Coimbatore range jail department vice-inspector Shanmugasundaram and jail superintendent Urmila presided over the occasion and presented mementos to the meritorious inmates.

On behalf of the Inner Wheel Club, a wheel chair was donated to the prison hospital, a steel cot and 45 books were donated to the prison library.
Kanagasubramaniam, Managing Trustee of Senthamamizh Foundation, and Sudha, President of Inner Wheel Club of Coimbatore (South), Kothai Nayagam, Sumathi, and Tripurasundari attended the event.
