Siruthuli organised World Environment Day Celebrations at Valankulam

To commemorate World Environment day, Siruthuli is doing its part by organising plantations and awareness drives in various parts of the city. Through their five verticals, Afforestation, Conservation of water bodies, Grow the Farmer, Waste Wise and Awareness, they are striving to protect natural resources from depletion and safeguard the environment.



Coimbatore: As part of World Environment Day celebrations, Siruthuli organised a plantation drive today (5th June 2023) at Valankulam, hoping to create more lung space in the heart of the city. 



KranthiKumar Pati, District Collector, and M.Prathap, Corporation Commissioner of Coimbatore, kicked off the effort by planting the first two saplings along the northern portion of the water body.



Siruthuli will plant more than 100 trees in the area, with the goal of improving air quality and reducing outdoor temperatures. Vanitha Mohan, Managing Trustee of Siruthuli, took part in the event.

In a separate event, Siruthuli and Axis Bank held an awareness camp at Valankulam today (5th June 2023) to highlight the importance of water bodies and their conservation in maintaining harmony with nature. Around 100 volunteers from PSG College of Arts and Science.

Siruthuli is currently working in five verticals to protect the environment and natural resources from depletion: afforestation, conservation of water bodies, growth of the farmer, waste wise, and awareness. In addition, plantation and awareness efforts were held around the city to commemorate World Environment Day.



As part of the celebrations, the senior officials from the Indian Oil Corporation planted saplings to mark the commencement of the project. 



Upon completion, the new site will be an abode to 1,000 native species, which is funded by the Indian Oil Corporation.



Siruthuli along with Bosch carried out a cleanliness drive, to commemorate the World Environment Day, at a plantation site in Thudiyalur on 3rd June, 2023.

As part of the celebrations, around 80 employees of Bosch took part in a wide range of activities, including pruning of trees, mulching and basin formation, aiming to promote the growth of trees. Employees engaged in the voluntary activities between 6.30 and 9.30 AM, aiming to reconnect with nature.



It is highlighted that the plantation site is maintained by Siruthuli under the sponsorship of Bosch. The park is home to thousands of well-grown native plants and plays an important role in improving air quality and lowering outdoor temperatures in the surrounding area.

Siruthuli, in collaboration with Apexon, a digital technology solution provider, held a plantation drive to commemorate World Environment Day on June 3rd, 2023, at a plantation site in Thudiyalur.

As part of the celebrations, around 170 employees took part in the voluntary activity, where nearly 150 saplings of native species were planted. It is highlighted that the plantation site is maintained by Siruthuli under the sponsorship of Apexon. The property is home to hundreds of well-grown native plants and plays an important role in enhancing air quality and lowering outdoor temperatures to a greater extent in the area.
