Car collides with electric pole near Mettupalayam - 3 injured

Three people were injured when eight friends -Anas (20), Hafeez (19), Sihab (20), Sansar (20), Suhail (19), Aseer (18), Arabas (19) and Ibrahim (20) - from Karumbukadai area near Ukkadam lost control of the vehicle near Kallar and rammed into an electric pole when they were returning from a picnic in Ooty.



Coimbatore: Three persons were injured when a vehicle belonging to Ukkadam in Coimbatore rammed into an electric pole while they were on a picnic to Ooty.

Friends Anas (20), Hafeez (19), Sihab (20), Sansar (20), Suhail (19), Aseer (18), Arabas (19) and Ibrahim (20) from Karumbukadai near Ukkadam are all planning to go on a picnic to Ooty.

Following this, all the friends went to Ooty in the car. The car was driven by Ibrahim. Friends who had toured various areas including Ooty-Coonoor were returning to Coimbatore early on Saturday morning.

The car, which was coming near a privately owned hotel in Kallar near Mettupalayam, lost control and accidentally hit an electric pole on the roadside and met with an accident.

The car was completely damaged. 



Hafiz, one of the eight occupants of the car, suffered a fracture in his right hand and two others sustained injuries when the car hit an electric pole.

The Mettupalayam police rushed to the spot and rescued all of them and admitted them to mettupalayam government hospital for treatment. He was later shifted to coimbatore government hospital for further treatment.

The accident occurred while returning home from a picnic, triggering panic in the area.
