Coimbatore Central Prison to buy modern oil production machine worth Rs 17 lakh

The demand for oil manufactured by Coimbatore central prison inmates has increased and a modern oil-producing machine has been procured for Coimbatore central jail at a cost of Rs 17 lakh.



Coimbatore: A state-of-the-art oil production machine has been procured at a cost of Rs 17 lakh for Coimbatore central jail.

In order to guide the inmates of Coimbatore Central Prison, various reform works such as education, yoga, meditation, vocational training etc., are being carried out.

In order to enable them to start their own business after their release, the inmates have been trained by the inmates to prepare blankets, towels, foot pedals, handkerchiefs, readymade garments, phenyl, soap oil, bath soap, candles, groundnut oil, coconut oil, sesame oil, bakery products, jute bags, pickles, dry bag, etc., which are being produced in a good manner.

The products produced by the prisoners are sold in the open market under the name of "Freedom" in order to benefit the public by purchasing quality goods at low prices in the open market. The sale of edible oil among the items sold has been well received by the public.

As per the instructions of Amresh Pujari, Director General of Police and Director General of Prisons and Correctional Services Department, two modern oil producing copper machines have been procured at a cost of Rs 17 lakh in order to increase the production of edible oil.



In this case, the work of producing oil through this modern oil engine is, it was inaugurated in the presence of Coimbatore Range Prisons Deputy Inspector General G Shanmugasundaram and Jail Superintendent Ma Urmila.
