Tamil Maanila Congress workers protest in Tirupur against power tariff hike

Tamil Maanila Congress (TMC) activists protested in front of the Tirupur district collectorate against the Tamil Nadu government's hike in electricity tariffs. At that time, they raised slogans demanding various demands.

Tirupur: Members of the Tamil Maanila Congress (TMC) protested at Tirupur against the Tamil Nadu government's increase in electricity tariffs.

The Tamil Nadu government had recently announced an increase in electricity tariff for commercial establishments from 14 paise to 21 paise.

Meanwhile, Tamil Maanila Congress (TMC) members organised a protest in front of the Tiruppur district collectorate, criticising the hike in electricity tariffs and the Tamil Nadu government's anti-people policies.

Led by district president Ravikumar, a large number of people participated in the protest and raised slogans against the state government.

The petition filed in court on behalf of the Tamil Nadu government alleging that the closure of liquor shops will harm the revenue of the Tamil Nadu government is an act of deception against the people.

Demands, including the immediate resignation of Minister Senthil Balaji, have been pressed into the protest and a memorandum has been submitted to the District Collector.
