On the occasion of Bakrid, thousands of Muslims in Coimbatore celebrated this special day with prayers offered at various mosques and grounds across the city. The celebrations were more special as workers from the northern states also joined in the festivities and offered Bakrid prayers.
Coimbatore: Bakrid, considered as the Muslim Day of Sacrifice, is celebrated by the majority of Muslims today.

On the occasion of Bakrid, Muslims gathered in large numbers at various mosques and grounds in Coimbatore to offer special prayers.

They offered special prayers and wore new clothes and offered namaz.

They then shared bakrid greetings with each other.

Accordingly, not only people from Tamil Nadu but also labourers from various northern states offered special Eid prayers at the Tipu Sultan Dakni Jamaat mosque in the Poo Market area.

In addition, caps, attars and kan surumas were sold for those offering namaz on the occasion of Bakrid at the mosque.

It was bought by workers from the northern states.
