The Disaster Response Force (DRF) has recently arrived in Valparai, an area in Coimbatore district, as the rainy season is set to begin. The Meteorological Department has predicted heavy rainfall, not only in Coimbatore but also in The Nilgiris. 80 personnel, including DSP and SI, will be staying in Valparai to ensure the safety of the locals .

Around 80 people, commanded by The Disaster Response Force DSP and SI, have arrived in Valparai. People are on standby at the municipal marriage hall in Valparai as a precautionary measure to save people from flood damages, tree falls and property damage caused by heavy rains in the Valparai district.

In order to save those trapped in the floods, mechanised boats and safety equipment, equipment used to cut down trees in case of tree falls and damages are kept on standby.
