Coimbatore Couple Caught Duping Jewellery Shop Owner of 2 Kg Gold - Police Investigating.

One year ago, Ramesh Kumar allegedly gave 2 kg of gold worth around Rs 1 crore to Raghunath, however the money has not been returned even after a long time since he bought the jewellery. Despite repeated requests from Ramesh Kumar, Raghunath has continually delayed the payment of jewellery and money.


Coimbatore: The deceased has been identified as Ramesh Kumar (56), a resident of Annai Velankanni Street, Vilankurichi Road, Vinayagapuram, Coimbatore. He runs a jewellery shop in Rajaveedhi in Coimbatore.

Ramesh Kumar had a professional relationship with Raghunath (43), a jeweller from Chettiveedi in Coimbatore. Raghunath used to buy jewellery from Ramesh Kumar and sell it.

A year ago, Ramesh Kumar allegedly gave 2 kg of gold worth around Rs 1 crore to Raghunath. However, Raghunath has not returned the money even after a long time since he bought the jewellery. Despite repeated requests from Ramesh Kumar, he kept delaying the payment of jewellery and money.

Disappointed, the jeweller Ramesh Kumar lodged a complaint at the bazaar Street police station. Based on the complaint, the police registered a case against Raghunath under two sections of cheating and criminal breach of trust. The police have also registered a case against Raghunath's wife Sreelekha for her alleged complicity in the scam.
