Tirupur :Jyoti Basu, a labourer, resides in a rented house owned by Subramanian on Kannivadi West Street near Dharapuram in Tirupur district.

His wife Nesavalli (31), their son Thilakam (04) and Nesavalli's mother Thamizharasi (52) live with them in the same house.

When Nesavalli would not open the door for a long time on Wednesday, the house owner, Subramanian, became suspicious and went inside to find the house locked. He became suspicious and alerted the Mulanur police and Udayakumar, the village administrative officer.

When the police busted through the door, they discovered Nesavalli's son Thilakam (4) dead on the porch of the house and Nesavalli hanging in the front room.

Her mother Tamilarasi was lying in a state of struggle for her life. Following this, the police rescued her and admitted to the hospital in an ambulance.

When asked about this, Tamilarasi said, "Palani Ram Nagar is my hometown. Five years ago, we got our daughter Nesavalli married to Jyoti Basu of Senkalivalas. In this case, his son-in-law Jyoti Basu got drunk and used to fight with her daughter every day. Three months ago, my daughter and I moved to Subramanian's house on Kannivadi West Street with our grandson. A few days ago, subramanian, the owner of the house, and I had a difference of opinion and he had been insisting on vacating the house.

My daughter and I were depressed about where to go on Tuesday night and planned to commit suicide. Finally, she gave rat medicine and sleeping tablets to her grandson Tilak Kalam. Then, after ingesting rat medicine with my daughter Nesavalli, I went into a coma. She didn't find out till the next morning that his daughter Nesavalli had gone to the front room and hanged herself, as well as that her grandson Tilakkam had died.

The Mulanur police have registered a case in this regard and are interrogating Nesavalli's husband Jyothi Basu and the owner of the house, Subramanian.
