Celebrating Tamil Nadu Day with a Photo Exhibition and Student Rally in Coimbatore!

On July 18th, 1967, the Madras Presidency was renamed to Tamil Nadu by the then Chief Minister Perarignar Anna. To commemorate this event, Tamil Nadu Day is celebrated every year on July 18th. This year, the Coimbatore district administration celebrated the event by hosting a photo exhibition at the district collectorate and a rally with the participation of government school students.



Coimbatore: On July 18, 1967, the Madras Presidency was renamed Tamil Nadu by then-Chief Minister Perarignar Anna. The government celebrates Tamil Nadu Day on July 18 to commemorate the occasion.

As a result, Tamil Nadu Day is celebrated today throughout Tamil Nadu.

As part of this, the Coimbatore district administration held a photo exhibition at the district collectorate, as well as a rally in which government school students participated.



The rally was flagged off by District Collector KranthiKumar Pati, Corporation Commissioner Prathap and Coimbatore City Police Commissioner Balakrishnan.



On Tamil Nadu Day, more than 100 government school students marched with banners.



Earlier in the day, they cut a ribbon and inspected a photo exhibition commemorating Tamil Nadu Day at the District Collectorate, together with students from government schools. They also described The Tamil Nadu Day and the images exhibited in the photo exhibition to the students.
