Following directives from Coimbatore Corporation Commissioner Katta Ravi Teja IAS, intensive dengue mosquito eradication activities including house-to-house inspections and fogging operations are being conducted in Kuniyamuthur Gokulam Nagar and Cheran Maanagar areas. Residents are being advised to prevent rainwater stagnation.
Coimbatore: Mosquito eradication activities are being intensively carried out across Coimbatore Corporation areas to prevent the spread of dengue fever. These measures have been intensified across all zones following direct instructions from Corporation Commissioner Katta Ravi Teja IAS.
Accordingly, in South Zone, Ward No. 87 covering Kuniyamuthur Gokulam Nagar area, corporation health workers conducted house-to-house inspections today. During these visits, residents were educated about dengue mosquito eradication measures.

Careful inspections were conducted to identify potential mosquito breeding sites such as water storage containers, old tyres, broken pots, coconut shells, and plastic materials. Immediate preventive measures were taken at locations where mosquitoes could breed.
Similarly, in East Zone, Ward No. 22 covering Cheran Maanagar area, corporation workers conducted fogging operations for dengue mosquito eradication. Fogging was specifically carried out in areas with drains, sewers, and bushes.

The Corporation administration has issued several important advisories to the public. Residents are urged to maintain homes and surroundings clean, ensure rainwater does not stagnate, wash and clean water storage containers weekly, and remove unnecessary old materials.
Corporation administration has stated that these mosquito eradication activities will continue in other wards in the coming days. Officials have expressed confidence that dengue spread can be completely controlled with public cooperation.
