Worker killed after being hit by two-wheeler in Thondamuthur

Sukumar, a 43-year-old resident of Coimbatore, had a tragic accident on his way from Thondamuthur to Vadavalli. He was quickly rushed to the government hospital in Thondamuthur by a 108 ambulance, however, tragically he succumbed to his injuries before reaching the hospital.


Coimbatore: A labourer died after two two-wheelers crashed near Thondamuthur in Coimbatore.

Sukumar (43) is a resident of Mahalakshmi Nagar on Narasipuram Road in Thondamuthur, Coimbatore. He was working as a plumber. He was travelling on his two-wheeler on the road between Thondamuthur and Vadavalli.

When he got close to Vanchi Nagar, a two-wheeler came in the route and hit the vehicle in which Sukumar was travelling. He was hurled aside, severely hurt, and rendered unconscious. He was promptly rescued by people and taken to Thondamuthur Government Hospital in a 108 ambulance. Sukumar died on the way, according to the doctors who examined him.

Sukumar's body was taken to the Coimbatore Government Hospital for a post-mortem. Thondamuthur police have opened an investigation into the accident and are interrogating nabi Hussain, another two-wheeler rider who was the cause of the accident.
