Truck collides with bike in Tirupur - College student killed in accident

Devanand (20), a college student, succumbed to his injuries when a truck rammed into his two-wheeler near Kumaran Road near Tirupur. The truck driver has been arrested and police are investigating the matter.


Tirupur: In a tragic incident, a college student was killed when a truck rammed into a two-wheeler on Kumaran Road in Tirupur.

Devanand (20) is the son of Rajkumar, a resident of Chinnayi Layout on Mangalam Road near Tirupur. He was studying in the 3rd year of a private college.

He had gone to the gym on Park Road to exercise. When they came near Kumaran Road Park Road, a truck coming from the old bus stand rammed into the two-wheeler and met with the accident.

Devanand stumbled and fell down and got stuck in the rear wheel of the truck and his right hand got stuck in the tyre. He was in pain and was rescued by the motorists and sent to the Tirupur Government Medical College Hospital.

In the meantime, he died at the hospital. Meanwhile, the Tirupur North police have registered a case and arrested the lorry driver Satheesh and are investigating the matter.
