Palanisamy, a resident of Udumalai forest settlement, died due to inadequate medical care, despite the efforts of the tribals to try and get him help. The Tirupur District Collector Christuraj has taken action and ordered the construction of a 5-kilometre road to connect the Udumalpet forest area to medical facilities. Furthermore, other hill villages have also been asked to inspect basic amenities required.
Tirupur: Palanisamy, a resident of the Udumalai forest village, fell ill, and tribals tied him to a cradle and carried him five kilometres to a hospital.
However, he died without being treated.
The incident was reported to reporters by Tirupur District Collector Christuraj. Last week, an assurance was given that a 5-kilometer road for tribals in the Udumalpet forest area would be built. Tender has been requested for the construction of the road.
The road will be built in three months. Apart from this area, other hill villages have also been ordered to inspect the basic amenities required. A report will be submitted to the government on the death of Palaniswami. He then stated.
