In Dharapuram in Tirupur district, the Communist Party of India (Marxist) staged a protest in front of the Anna statue in Dharapuram against the union and the ruling state BJP for not taking any action against the violence and rape of women in Manipur.

Muthusamy led the protest. During the protest, two tribal women in the state of Manipur were brutally stripped naked and dragged in a procession on the road.
