Coimbatore Cybercrime police arrest father-son duo who duped a woman of Rs. 14 lakhs in the pretext of getting a KFC franchise

Cyber crime police found that the accused have been identified as Rampraves Prasad and Surajkumar, both residents of Bihar, who are father-son duo.



Coimbatore: Priyadarshini (22) is a native of Ukkadam in Coimbatore. Graduate girl. It is learnt that he was considering starting a business alone. 

When i searched the website, i got an advertisement on the internet claiming to get a license to run the shop in the name of KFC. Considering this to be true, he tried to get the license. At that time, it was informed that verification will be done online and the amount required for obtaining the licence can be obtained immediately if the amount required is paid online.

Priyadarshini thought this to be true and built it on the internet at a cost of Rs 14 lakh. However, as the company did not get any license to run the company even after a long time of payment, the woman became suspicious and lodged a complaint with the Coimbatore City Cyber Crime Police.When the police registered a case on the basis of the complaint and were monitoring the internet, it came to light that the fraud had taken place in the state of Bihar.

During the investigation, the Cyber crime police found that the accused have been identified as Rampraves Prasad and Surajkumar, both residents of Bihar, who are father-son duo.

During further investigation, it was revealed that the two were arrested by the Chhattisgarh police a few days ago in another cheating case and were lodged in jail. Following this, the police rushed to Chhattisgarh and arrested the two from the jail and brought them to Coimbatore. They were produced in court and sent to jail. It was revealed that some others had joined them in the racket. The police are on the lookout for some more people who are absconding.
