Housing and Urban Development Minister S Muthusamy inspected the camp at the Corporation Primary School on Peelamedu-Aavarampalayam Road in Coimbatore to receive an application form for Rs 1,000 under the Kalaignar Magalir Urimai Thogai scheme.

Out of the 1401 ration shops in Coimbatore district, work has started in 839 shops in the first phase. A total of 1679 volunteers have engaged themselves in these works. 53693 candidates have been examined and applications have been received.
Of the 1,088 ration card holders, 141 have so far arrived in the area being inspected in Aavarampalayam area. Since there is time till The 30th, the remaining ones are likely to come. Arrangements have been made for the full arrival of those who have been left out for the last two days.
