Residents of Maniyakarampalayam have lodged a complaint with the district collector demanding the removal of the shop, alleging that Ranganathan is running a pushcart food stall by encroaching upon the public near the public toilet.
Coimbatore: The residents of Maniyakarampalayam have lodged a complaint with the district collector seeking the removal of the pushcart shop which is causing inconvenience to the public.

It was alleged that Ranganathan, a resident of the same locality, had removed a restaurant in a trolley near a public toilet in Maniyakaranpalayam area of Coimbatore on the basis of Anandakumar Uttaraviran, the husband of the Mayor of Coimbatore.
In this situation, some people from the area lodged a complaint with the Coimbatore district collector's office. Ranganathan has been accused of running a trolley shop by encroaching near a public toilet used by the public.
They also said that they are not running shops there at night and are acting as a tent of anti-social elements, affecting the women who use the toilet.
They said they had seized the trolley on the basis of a complaint with the North Zone Chief, but were spreading false news against the mayor and the mayor's husband. They also demanded that appropriate action should be taken against Ranganathan.
