Labour Welfare and Skill Development Minister C V Ganesan promised to provide necessary sports equipment at his own cost to the students of the Government Tribal Vocational Training Centre at Anaikatti in Coimbatore.
Coimbatore: Minister C V Ganesan has promised to provide sports equipment to tribal vocational training students in Anaikatti at their own cost.
Tamil Nadu Labour Welfare and Skill Development Minister C V Ganesan participated in various programmes held in periyanayakanpalayam panchayat union areas in Coimbatore.
He then visited the Government Tribal Industrial Training Centre at Anaikatti and inspected it.
The Minister then visited the vocational training of the students and asked the students what they wanted.
The students demanded sports equipment for themselves and a separate hostel for women.
Following this, he promised to buy sports equipment for the students at his own cost. He also promised to take steps to set up a separate hostel for women.
Subsequently, he inaugurated the construction of tarred roads in Anaikatti and Singuli areas at an estimated cost of Rs.97.85 lakh under the Chief Minister's Rural Roads Development Programme.
DMK's Coimbatore North district secretary Ravi Karamadai West Union secretary Surendran, union council president Anaikatti Madan and others were present on the occasion.
