District Collector Christuraj personally inspected the construction of a statue and auditorium of freedom fighter Thali Ethalapar at an estimated cost of Rs 2.60 crore in the Kandur canal area of Thirumoorthy Malai near Udumalpet.
Tirupur: District Collector Christuraj inspected the construction of a statue of freedom fighter Thali Ethalappar at Thirumoorthy Hill near Udumalpet.
The Tamil Nadu Chief Minister had announced that a statue and a stadium of freedom fighter Thali Ethalappar would be erected at the Kandur canal in Thirumoorthy hills near Udumalpet in Tirupur district.
Accordingly, a sum of Rs.2.60 crore has been allocated for the construction of thali ethalappar statue and arangam and the construction of a stadium at Thirumoorthy Nagar in Thali Town Panchayat is in progress. District Collector Christuraj inspected the works.
Public Works Department Executive Engineer Thyagarajan, Assistant Executive Engineer Ramaraj, Thali Town Panchayat President Udhayakumar and others were present on the occasion.
