Driver falls at minister's feet with infant pleading for transfer of job to his hometown

The driver, who fell at the feet of Minister Sivasankar, submitted a petition requesting him to understand the family situation and be given a job in his native place as his wife had died in Coimbatore. An order has been issued to transfer him the very next day.



Coimbatore: A day after the driver, who fell at the feet of a minister with an infant and submitted a petition seeking a transfer, was transferred a day after he made a request.

Transport Minister K Sivasankar participated in a function organised by the Transport Department at the State Transport Workshop in Coimbatore's Sungam area yesterday. The driver, Kannan, who came to the stage, fell at the minister's feet along with the infant due to the family situation as his wife had died and submitted a petition demanding a transfer in his hometown Theni itself.

The incident of the driver with the infant falling at the minister's feet shocked everyone, including all the government officials on the dais.

In this case, his petition has been considered and he has been transferred to his native place and an order has been issued. Kannan will receive this order tomorrow.
