Bear attacks woman worker in Valparai

A bear hiding in a tea plantation near Valparai attacked a woman worker who had gone to work and overturned her. The woman, who sustained serious injuries on her hands and head, is being treated at the Pollachi Government Hospital.



Coimbatore: Kamalam, a woman labourer, had gone to work in a tea plantation this morning to pluck tea. At that time, the bear, who was unexpectedly hiding, attacked him, leaving his co-workers in a state of panic.

Kamalam, 59, is a resident of 3rd Division of Waterfalls Estate near Valparai in Coimbatore district. This morning he went to work in a tea garden. At that time, the bear, which was hiding in the tea garden, attacked the worker. The woman sustained serious injuries on her hand and head.



He was taken to the estate hospital for first aid treatment. Later, his relatives rushed him to pollachi hospital for treatment.
