DMDK cadres celebrate leader Vijayakanth's birthday in Udumalpet

A special pooja was also performed at the Rajakaliamman temple to pray for the health of Vijayakanth. Two weighing machines were also distributed to the school boys and girls at the Government Primary School in Erisanampatti. Women were given sarees and footwear.


Tirupur: On the occasion of DMDK chief Vijayakanth's birth anniversary, a special pooja was performed at Udumalaipettai by the DMDK cadres to pray for his well-being.



On the occasion of the 71st birth anniversary of Captain Vijayakanth, the founder of desiya murpokku Dravida Kazhagam, the district secretary of the party cut a 10 kg cake at the district office in Udumalpet and inaugurated the function.



Later, a special pooja was performed at rajakaliamman temple in Periyakottai panchayat for the health of Captain Vijayakanth.



The DMDK hoisted the flag at more than 7 places including Udumalaipettai Bus Stand, Palani Andavar Nagar, Gomathi Nagar, Kollam Workshop and in Sivasakthi Colony Shankar Nagar Chellappampalayam Manupatti Uralpatti Panchayats under Udumalpet Union and sweets and annadhanam were distributed at all places.

District corporation secretary Aarusamy presided over the function, district association president Advocate Panneerselvam, treasurer Annadurai, deputy secretaries Ramesh Babu, Alampalayam Kandasamy, executive committee member GK alias Ganesh Kumar, general council members Giri, Periyasamy, Gunasekaran, Udumalai town secretary Ramachandran, union secretary Vakil Durai Kannan and office-bearers from Dharapuram were present.
