Minister Sakkarapani inspects civil supplies godown at Karumathampatti in Coimbatore

A Food Quality Control Laboratory is being set up at the Tamil Nadu Civil Supplies Corporation godown at Karumathampatti in Coimbatore District. Minister for Food and Civil Supplies Sakkarapani made a surprise inspection of the warehouse.


Coimbatore: Minister Sakkarapani inspected the ration shop and enquired whether the goods were available to the people on time and quality. After this, go to the houses in Vakarayampalayam and see if the goods are available in a proper manner without any hindrance? He asked the public.

A Food Quality Control Laboratory is being set up at the Tamil Nadu Civil Supplies Corporation godown at Karumathampatti in Coimbatore District. Minister for Food and Civil Supplies Sakkarapani made a surprise inspection of the warehouse.

The Government of Tamil Nadu is modernizing the Tamil Nadu Civil Supplies Godowns. A total of 287 civil supplies godowns have been equipped with modern machineries to transport goods to the godowns with the help of automatic machines for the benefit of the porters. As a next step, a modern laboratory is being set up in all the godowns for quality inspection of food items. A quality laboratory is also being set up at the 22,000 Metric Tonnes capacity Tamil Nadu Civil Supplies Corporation godown at Karumathampatti.

Minister Sakkarapani made a surprise inspection of the quality laboratory being set up here. He then inspected the food safety godown that might be there. He inquired about the way food items were being distributed there.

Later, the Minister said that all the civil supplies godowns across Tamil Nadu are being modernized. Following this, a quality laboratory is being set up. In order to effectively implement the Public Distribution System throughout Tamil Nadu, the godowns are being modernized to ensure that the food items are of good quality, without delay and to supply the goods at the right weight without any delay, he said.

Tamil Nadu Civil Supplies Corporation Manager Annadurai, Coimbatore District Taluk Supply Officer Ramachandran, Karumathampatti Municipality President Nithya Manoharan, Coimbatore District Quality Control Manager Vanitha, Karumathampatti Civil Supplies Warehouse Quality Inspector Ranjith Kumar, Sulur Taluk Taluk Supply Officer Kavitha and others participated in the inspection.

Following this, Minister Sakkarapani inspected the Primary Agricultural Cooperative Credit Society at Vakarayampalayam. He inspected the ration shop at Vakarayampalayam and enquired whether the goods were available to the people on time. After this, go to the houses in Vakarayampalayam and see if the goods are available in a proper manner without any hindrance? He heard it among the public. Coimbatore Co-operative Society Joint Registrar Parthiban and Coimbatore District Public Distribution System Deputy Registrar Rajendran were present on the occasion.
