One-and-a-half-year-old male peacock dies after being trapped in transformer in Tirupur

Forest officials said the deceased male peacock was one-and-a-half years old. Following this, the forest department took the body of the peacock for burial.



Tirupur: A peacock, a national bird, was electrocuted to death in Tirupur district of Tamil Nadu. The body of the dead peacock was taken away by the forest department for burial.

The peacock, the national bird, used to roam around the Tirupur nagar area every day in search of prey.



In this case, a peacock died of electrocution while sitting in a transformer in Lakshmi Nagar area of Tirupur.



Seeing this, the people in the area informed the forest department. They rushed to the spot and rescued the peacock in a dead state.

Forest officials said the deceased male peacock was one-and-a-half years old. Following this, the forest department took the body of the peacock for burial. The death of a peacock due to electrocution has left the people of the area in a state of shock.
