In Coimbatore, a spotted deer that had strayed out of the forest into Thiruvalluvar Nagar was bitten by stray dogs. People who rescued the deer from the dogs gave first aid and handed it over to the forest department.
Coimbatore: A deer was bitten by dogs and bled in various parts of his body. People placed turmeric powder at the bleeding spot and provided first aid.
Coimbatore Anaikatti Road Thadagam, Kanuvai, Mangarai, etc., are adjacent to the hills and forests. In this case, a male spotted deer (aged 3-4 years) who had left the forest area had strayed and entered thiruvalluvar nagar town.
In this case, the stray dogs who saw the deer chased and bit him. On hearing the noise, the neighbours immediately chased away the stray dogs.
The spotted deer then went into the premises of a nearby house and hid. The villagers immediately caught hold of the deer and placed turmeric powder on the spot where the blood was flowing and treated it first-aid as the deer was bleeding at various places due to the dog bite.
The forest department was later informed and the forest department reached the spot and took to the Mangarai check post for medical treatment of the deer.
Meanwhile, the public requested former Nanjundapuram panchayat president VKV Sundararaj, who reached the spot, to take immediate action against their dogs as they were in trouble.
