Gandhi Jayanthi 2023 - Coimbatore Collector garlands statue and inaugurates Khadi sale

Coimbatore District Collector Kranthi Kumar inaugurated the first sale at khadi market on the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti.


Coimbatore: District Collector Kranthi Kumar, who paid floral tributes by garlanding the statue of Mahatma Gandhi with a handloom garland, visited a photo exhibition on the life history of Mahatma Gandhi set up there.

As Mahatma Gandhi's birth anniversary is being celebrated today, various quarters are paying homage to his statue and photographs at various places. Grama Sabha meetings will also be held on behalf of the government today.

Coimbatore District Collector Kranthi Kumar inaugurated the first sale on the occasion of Gandhi's birth anniversary at the Khadi Market near Avinashi Road flyover in Coimbatore.

On the occasion, he also garlanded the statue of Mahatma Gandhi and garlanded it with a handloom garland.



He later visited a photo exhibition on the life history of Mahatma Gandhi.



Khadi and Village Industries Assistant Director Giri Ayyappan and Handlooms Assistant Director Sivakumar were also present on the occasion.
