'Maya' project by Rotary Club of Texcity, Coimbatore - Eye camp for slum dwellers

An eye treatment camp and entertainment programme was held for the slum dwellers under the newly named Maya project under the flagship project of Rotary Club of TexCity, Coimbatore


Coimbatore: Rotary Club of TexCity, Coimbatore organized various awareness campaigns in Coimbatore.

Various assistance is being provided to the slum dwellers of the flagship project of Tex City of Coimbatore Rotary Club. This was followed by the flagship project, which was launched on September 30 and was named Maya.

The Maya project was held in a slum area near Anna Nagar in Sowripalayam, Coimbatore. This project is a highly developed project for slums.



In an effort to reduce the burdens of slum dwellers, Rotary Club of TexCity, Coimbatore conducted entertainment programmes such as eye check-up camp for health beneficiaries, live eye care awareness session for the elderly and children and dream world show, traditional games, mystery box, Mr & Miss Maya.



The Maya project was very useful and entertaining for both adults and children.

The elderly have benefited a lot from the eye treatment camp. There was a complete eye examination and arrangements were made to go for further treatment.

The kids were very excited to see the dream world show for the first time. It was the most remarkable memory of childhood.

The PACE Foundation and the Rotract Club of IIVM are thanked for providing great support to this event.



Overall, the Maya project, like other projects, became the most successful and remarkable project of the Texcity group.
