'Farooq's anti-religious views could have triggered murder', say initial reports from Police

Farooq (31) cadre of Dravida Vidudhalai Kalagam was gruesomely murdered yesterday night in Ukkadam by unknown strangers. Reports say, Police have formed four special teams to nab the criminals behind this murder. However, initial reports indicate that Farooq's anti-religious thoughts could have been the trigger for the murder.

Meanwhile, Ansrath from Podanur surrendered this afternoon in No:5, District Combined Court in connection to this murder. The Magistrate ordered to remand him under judicial custody till 28th March. Police have planned to file a petition to take Ansrath under custody to investigate on rest of the culprits and the motive of the murder, sources say.

However, Ansrath's lawyer has stated that Ansrath made a call to Farooq's mobile after which he lost his mobile. Hence, out of fear of being probed Ansrath has surrendered in the court.

The initial reports from Police suspecting Farooq's anti-religious view as the reason for his murder has triggered shock and condemnation among the DVK party and the public.
