Durairaj (55), SSI in Thudiyalur police station in Coimbatore was arrested for sexually harassing two minors.

In an unfortunate incident, two young girls were sexually harassed near Coimbatore, resulting in the arrest of a Special Sub-Inspector of Police who was serving as an Assistant Investigator in the case.

Coimbatore’s Thudiyalur region witnessed this distressing incident as Durairaj (55), a Special Sub-Inspector of Police (SSI) working in the area, found himself in trouble. He is believed to have been involved in an inappropriate relationship with a woman, who is in an extramarital relationship with him. This woman has two daughters, aged 19 and 17. Both of them have been kept away from the public eye, confined to their home, and their movements restricted. It has been alleged that Durairaj provided the girls with alcoholic beverages on several occasions.

Recently, the two girls managed to escape from their home, and during their brief freedom, they reported the situation to the police, accusing Durairaj of sexually harassing them. The police swiftly located the whereabouts of these minors and initiated an investigation.

The situation took a legal turn, and Durairaj has been arrested under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act. This incident has raised significant concerns about the safety and protection of minors in the region.

The investigation is ongoing, and Durairaj faces serious legal consequences if found guilty. This case underscores the importance of safeguarding vulnerable individuals in society, especially children, from any form of abuse or harassment.
