Tusker found dead in decomposed state near Valparai.

A carcass of a tusker which is presumed to have died ten days ago was found in a estate near Valparai.

'For the past few days, unbearable foul smell was emanating from the cardamom estate. Hence, we probed and found an elephant carcass in a really bad decomposed state'. said the estate workers of Mahalakshmi estate.

The forest officials Chandran and Sivakumar along with Dr. Manoharan, Vetenarian arrived to the spot and conducted a post-mortem on the spot.

Initial reports confirm that the elephant could have been badly injured in a herd fight which could have lead to it's death.

However, the officials did not bury the carcass but left as fodder for other wild animals.
