Merchants from Tirupur, Dindigul, Erode, Salem, and Coimbatore districts actively participated in the auction. The bidding saw the highest price for a quintal of cotton reaching ₹7,677, the lowest at ₹6,200, and the average price standing at ₹6,700.
The total amount of cotton auctioned was 1168 bales, equivalent to 401.78 quintals, valuing ₹26,23,570. A total of 12 traders participated in the concealed auction. This information was shared by the Senior Secretary (Marketing), Tirupur Sales Group, Dharmaraj. The auction arrangements were meticulously overseen by Supervisor Sivakumar.
