Mettupalayam-Tirunelveli Special Train Service Extended - Railway Administration Announcement

The special train service between Mettupalayam and Tirunelveli, which was initially set to conclude on December 27, has now been extended to January 29, as per the latest notification from the Railway Administration.


Coimbatore: The Railway Administration has announced the extension of the Mettupalayam-Tirunelveli special train service until the end of January. This weekly special train operates between Mettupalayam and Tirunelveli.

The special train departs from Tirunelveli (06030) at 7:00 PM on Sundays and arrives in Mettupalayam the following morning at 7:30 AM. Similarly, it leaves Mettupalayam (06029) at 7:45 PM on Mondays and reaches Tirunelveli the next morning at 7:45 AM.

Originally scheduled to end operations on December 27, the service has now been extended to January 29. The special train includes AC two-tier, three-tier, sleeper class, and second class coaches.

This special train stops at stations like Cheranmadevi, Kallidaikurichi, Ambasamudram, Keezhakadaiyam, Pavoorchatram, Tenkasi, Kadaiyanallur, Sankarankovil, Rajapalayam, Tiruvilliputhur, Sivakasi, Virudhunagar, Madurai, Dindigul, Oddanchatram, Palani, Udumalaipettai, Pollachi, Kinathukadavu, Pothanur, and Coimbatore railway stations.
