Coimbatore Central Jail Chief Warden Suspended

Chief Warden Jayachandran of the Coimbatore Central Jail has been suspended following the recent confiscation of cannabis and subsequent investigation revealing his involvement in providing it to inmates.


Coimbatore: The Chief Warden of Coimbatore Central Jail, Jayachandran, has been suspended following a recent incident involving the confiscation of cannabis within the jail premises. During the investigation conducted by the prison police, an inmate named Parthasarathy revealed that Jayachandran had supplied cannabis to the prisoners.

In light of these revelations, the Superintendent of Prisons, Senthilkumar, issued an order yesterday for the suspension of Chief Warden Jayachandran. This decision comes as part of the department's strict actions against illegal activities and contraband within the prison system.

This suspension is a significant move in ensuring the integrity of the prison administration and maintaining discipline and order within the jail.
