'Odalaam Vaanga' - Coimbatore Hosts Its First Marathon of the Year

The first marathon of 2024 in Coimbatore, part of the Coimbatore Vizha and themed "Odalaam Vaanga," was a grand success with participants of all ages.


Coimbatore: Embracing the theme "Odalaam Vaanga," Coimbatore celebrated its first marathon of 2024 as a part of the Coimbatore Vizha.



The marathon, held near the Nehru Stadium, witnessed the participation of over a thousand people, ranging from children as young as five to the elderly.



The event was aimed at promoting a healthy lifestyle among the citizens of Coimbatore, featuring race categories of 2.5 km, 5 km, and 10 km.



In the 10 km category, notable participants included the District Collector Kranthi Kumar Pati, City Police Commissioner Balakrishnan, and several members of the police force, along with a large number of citizens.



The involvement of these key figures made the event particularly special, creating a sense of joy and community spirit among the participants. The marathon not only emphasized physical fitness but also strengthened communal ties, as seen by the enthusiastic photo sessions with the officials.



This event marked a significant step towards fostering a health-conscious Coimbatore.
