The Tamil Nadu government initiates the distribution of Pongal gift packages, including Rs 1000 cash, in Coimbatore's Gudalur Municipality and Kurudampalayam Panchayat.
Coimbatore: In celebration of Pongal, the Tamil Nadu government, led by Chief Minister Stalin, has commenced the distribution of special Pongal gift packages in Gudalur Municipality and Kurudampalayam Panchayat. The packages, aimed at enriching the festival spirit, include 1 kg of raw rice, sugar, a whole sugarcane, and Rs.1,000 in cash.
The initiative was inaugurated in Gudalur Municipality by the Municipal Chairman Arivarasu and in Kurudampalayam Panchayat by District Councilor Karthik. This state-wide effort is to ensure the joyous celebration of the harvest festival. In Gudalur, Chairman Arivarasu distributed the Pongal packages at a local ration shop, mainly to women beneficiaries.

Attendees included Deputy Chairman Rathi Rajendran, Councilors Meena Ganesan, Bank Murugesan, Akhil Chandrasekaran, Ponmadassamy, and other dignitaries. Similarly, in Kurudampalayam, Councilor Karthik oversaw the distribution in Vadamadurai, Aruljyothi Nagar, Jangamanayakanpalayam, and Thoppampatti.
Other notable attendees were Councilor Arulraj, former Union Councilor Saravanakumar, party officials Sahavignesh, Dinakaran, Narayanasamy, Narayanamoorthy, Devaraj, and several others.
