“The refusal to participate or send representatives, not only reveals the party's disregard for Hindu beliefs but also its reluctance to let the voice of Lord Rama spread across the nationâ€, she said.
Coimbatore: Vanathi Srinivasan, BJP National Women's Wing Leader and Coimbatore South MLA, in a statement, criticized the Congress party's decision to not attend the consecration ceremony of the Ayodhya Sri Ram Temple. Congress General Secretary Jairam Ramesh announced that former Congress President Sonia Gandhi, Leader Mallikarjun Kharge, and Lok Sabha leader Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury would not be participating in the event scheduled for January 22nd.
Srinivasan stated that building a temple for Lord Rama in Ayodhya has been a centuries-old dream for over 100 crore Indian people. The Sri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust had invited political parties, organizations, and key figures, including Congress, to witness this historical moment. She noted the nationwide excitement following the announcement of the temple's consecration date, with people across India preparing to celebrate the event like a family festivity.
However, the Congress party's decision to reject the invitation, labeling the event as an RSS and BJP program, reflects its true stance against Hindu sentiments, Srinivasan accused. She further criticized Congress for missing an opportunity to transform the event into a Congress initiative, similar to the construction of the Somnath Temple in Gujarat. The refusal to participate or send representatives, according to Srinivasan, not only reveals the party's disregard for Hindu beliefs but also its reluctance to let the voice of Lord Rama spread across the nation.
Srinivasan demanded a public apology from the Congress leadership for this act of disrespect and arrogance, which she believes insults the Hindu community. She emphasized that the people are closely watching and will respond appropriately to those who harbor arrogance.
